Social Media - You’re Not the Boss of Me
Why I’m Returning to Social Media—On My Terms
It’s been a year since I stepped away from social media, and boy, I do not miss it. However, I’m getting ready to jump back in—but this time, it’s going to be on my terms.
Nope, I’m not going to use social media the way the algorithms expect me to. I won’t be engaging just for engagement’s sake. Instead, I’m prioritizing what I’ve come to value most in the past year: real, in-person connections. I understand that some people live in rural areas or have difficulty connecting face-to-face, and for them, social media is a lifeline. But for me, in-person interaction is life-giving, and I refuse to let the online world replace that.
So, as I step back onto these platforms, I do so with clear boundaries—my live-bys, my non-negotiables. And one of my core live-bys is adding value. Every time I post, I want it to bring something worthwhile to your life.
I also recognize that not everyone will agree with me—and that’s perfectly fine. I’m not here for everyone. I’m here for a very specific group of women—women who believe we can do better. Better as wives. Better as moms. Better as followers of Christ. And most importantly, women who are committed to taking action to grow in these areas.
So, if that resonates with you, I invite you to follow along, share this with your friends, and get ready—because great things are coming. Let’s build something meaningful together.
